Casey Gilbert is a California born, Texas raised, New York City-based actor/singer/songwriter/musician/sports aficionado/haver of fun. She received her training from The Academy at Theatre Under The Stars in Houston and continued training at Belmont University as a commercial vocal performance major. Then, in a dramatic turn of events, she decided to transfer to Texas A&M University and received a degree in Sport Management.
After working in the college basketball industry for a year, she was called back onto the stage by the *magic* of musical theatre and returned to Theatre Under the Stars. After spending two years in the Houston theatre scene, she moved to New York City because she loves having anxiety attacks.
Since moving to the city, she has had the privilege of working with composer Bobby Cronin in developmental readings for Mary & Max and Til Death Do Us Part. She also spent a summer in the mountains of West Virginia playing Katie in The Honky Tonk Laundry at the Greenbrier Valley Theatre. Most recently, Casey and collaborator Emily Nash performed their self-produced cabaret Beta Bitches & Beta Blockers: An Anxious Cabaret to a sold out crowd at The Duplex.
When not performing, Casey enjoys working with the kiddos of the UES and managing the record label of a that one guy from The Sopranos. She also loves a glass of cab sav and writing music, learning a new instrument, searching for the perfect folk/rock vinyl to add to her record collection, or reading a suspense thriller in her spare time. She is a proud member of the Actors' Equity Association.
